Common Core State Standards

Educational standards describe what students should know and be able to do in each subject in each grade. California adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) to ensure all students are prepared for success in college and the workplace.

The Edison Elementary School District is committed to implementing the Common Core State Standards in all classrooms, ensuring our students develop the knowledge, critical thinking, and skills they need to succeed at every grade level and beyond.

What Are the Common Core Standards?

The Common Core State Standards are a set of clear, consistent learning goals for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics in kindergarten through grade 12. They were designed by teachers, education experts, and parents to ensure students are learning the right things at the right time.
