Edison Elementary School District is proud to announce it has been selected to receive the School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) Grant, awarded through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) under the U.S. Department of Justice.
Edison was awarded $356,000, paid over three years, to enhance school safety through evidence-based security improvements designed to protect students and staff.
The SVPP is a highly competitive, nationwide grant program. Applications are received from jurisdictions across all 50 states, and only a small percentage are selected each year. Awards are based on the strength of each district’s safety plan, project impact, management capacity, and long-term sustainability.
Edison Elementary School District remains committed to ensuring that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our highest priority. The support of the U.S. Department of Justice through the SVPP grant strengthens our ongoing efforts to build secure campuses, expand staff preparedness, and invest in programs that promote safe and supportive learning environments.
The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is a component of the U.S. Department of Justice dedicated to advancing community policing and supporting public safety through information and grant funding. Since 1994, the COPS Office has invested more than $20 billion to help communities nationwide enhance safety and trust.
